How can I type out a nice looking post in Discourse?
Generally, topics are typed into Discourse using Markdown. As indicated on its Wikipedia page, Markdown is a lightweight markup language for creating formatted text intended to be easy to read in its source code form.
By formatted, we mean that it’s easy to
include section headings to break your text into sections,
include a hyperlink,
specify text as italic or bold or struck,.or
include a list (like this one!)
For example, the post to this point can be typed in as follows:

There are a number of different implementations of Markdown and not all
I liked this because I was told to, however, according to all known laws of aviation there is no way a bee should be able to fly. Its wings are too small to get its fat little body off the ground. The bee, of course, flies anyway.
