This topic is place where Mark’s Calc I students can ask questions about our quiz 3 review .
In number one I got the formula 2/3x+1/x^2 but the results are getting further away from the root of 3?
The way the problem is stated, we’re trying to estimate sqrt(3), so I guess the function should be z^2-3, rather than z^3-3. I suppose you’re getting a good estimate to the cube root of 3, though!
For problem 2, to find how high the rock goes would we find the vertex of y(t)?
I think that would work!
so if I were to put that the max. hight of the rock is -16(22/32)^2+22(22/32)+80 would that be a valid answer?
Yes, that’s definitely valid! I think it might also be correct, though, that’s a different question.
